October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – a cause very close to our hearts here at Not Another Bunch Of Flowers. We’re always keen to help raise vital funds for smaller charities, and this month we are supporting the wonderful Mummy’s Star.
Along with friends and family, Pete Wallroth founded Mummy’s Star in 2013 in memory of his wife Mair. At 22 weeks pregnant with their second child, Mair discovered a lump in her breast which was sadly found to be cancer. A course of chemotherapy was started immediately and progress seemed to be going well, with the safe delivery of their baby in June 2012. However, the cancer was found to have spread and Mair sadly passed away in December 2012.
Mummy’s Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy and after birth. Their aim is to provide financial assistance, emotional support and practical advice. But they need our help to make this a reality.
This October we will be supporting Mummy’s Star by donating 10% of all card sales to this lovely charity.
